One of the best countries to party in South-East Asia is, without a doubt, Thailand. With the world-famous full moon party in Koh Phangan and the vibrant city of Bangkok, there are simply hundreds of party venues to choose from.
Thailand attracts backpackers from around the world, and of course, this means everyone is looking to socialise and have a good time.
Almost every big city or town has its own vibrant nightlife scene. With most travellers appreciating the low prices in Thailand in comparison to their home country, drinks will seem a bargain, allowing for a great night out with no restraints.
Today I’m going to share with you my top ten party experiences in Thailand, to help you plan some fantastic nights out on your next trip!
Walking Street in Pattaya
One of the most well-renowned party spots in Thailand is Walking Street, Pattaya. It’s the central hub for all the action in Pattaya, especially for male visitors.
With clubs such as Disco Mixx or Club Insomnia, you will be able to choose a new venue every night of your trip.
The street also has many choices for ping pong shows, strip clubs, massage and Muay Thai. With such a great variety of nights out here, you’ll want to make sure you’re in town for the best part of a week.
Full Moon Party
The Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan is one of the top bucket list items for many people visiting Thailand. The party originated in Hat Rin back in 1985 and takes place on the night of the full moon each month.
Attracting thousands of tourists, the island hosts parties every night leading up to it. Choose a great party hostel for your stay if you are travelling solo, to allow you to meet people to enjoy this event with.
Apache Beach Bar, Koh Phi Phi
Located on Loh Dalum Bay, this beach bar hosts parties that carry on into the early hours of the morning. Enjoy buckets of drink while watching an incredible fire and acrobatic performances. You can expect the same level of wild partying here as at the Full Moon party!
Khao San Road, Bangkok
The main hub for backpackers staying in Bangkok, Khao San Road is full of pubs, music and excellent street food. With hundreds of young travellers partying here every night, you’ll have an amazing time.
Cheap beer is available throughout the street, and later on, in the night, expect tourists to move the parties and dancing out into the street.
If you are more into craft beer and want to know where to go in Bangkok for craft beer?
Hard Rock Café, Phuket
Every Saturday night the Hard Rock Café hosts an amazing foam party. The huge onsite swimming pool if filled up with foam and travellers dance all night long. Featuring incredible DJs and a high-quality sound and light system, this is one of the best parties I experienced in Thailand.
The Koh Tao Pub Crawl
While most people visit Koh Tao for its diving, it’s always good to let off some steam after a day of learning in the water! I loved my night on the Koh Tao Pub Crawl, which is one of the biggest ones I’ve ever joined.
If you are a young backpacker who loves to drink all night long, I promise you’ll have a great time. As a solo traveller, I found it a great way to make new friends on the island, and I enjoyed getting to visit many venues in one night.
Illuzion, Phuket
With a massive dance floor and an LED wall, you won’t want to miss this club in Phuket. Ranked as one of the top clubs in Asia, they regularly feature world-famous DJs such as Sean Paul and Tiesto. Holding up to 5000 people a night, the venue is open every day of the week from 10 pm.
Jungle Experience, Koh Phangan
For another incredible party experience on Koh Phangan, enjoy the dance party that is the Jungle Experience. It’s a unique eco party located deep in the Baan Tai jungle. With beautiful natural surroundings, the DJs play house and techno music.
It’s such a unique party experience and was one of my favourite parties of my trip to Thailand. I loved watching the dancers and performers here! It takes place twice a month, usually happening ten days and one day before the full moon party.
Onyx, Bangkok
This club hosts up to 2000 people a night and is renowned for its amazing DJs and Electronic Dance Music. With lasers, confetti and cannons, it’s a wild night here any day of the week. Onyx has a massive dance floor with a high-ceiling and LED screen. The entrance price is about 400 Baht, but that usually includes a drink voucher.
Warm Up Café, Chiang Mai
Another fantastic city for partying is Chiang Mai, which has many ex-pats and visitors at all times. Warm-Up Café is one of the biggest and longest-running party spots in the city and is split into different sections.
I love the outside terrace, which is relaxed and perfect for drinking and catching up with friends. It’s one of the busiest spots in town, so arrive early or book in advance, especially at weekends.
These are just some of the amazing venues to visit in Thailand. As you can imagine, there are simply hundreds of different venues, parties and festivals throughout the country.
